Spring is just arriving in Austin, and also blooming fresh in Paris where I spent the past week. Fresh blooms, new growth, celebratory birdsong. Newly painted toes, crunchy salads, an opening of the windows.
It’s time, nature seems to be saying. Time for change, time for new, time to begin. Again.
So much of what we look forward to in spring, and what we long for after the long dark of winter - is here. Sunlight and longer days, gentle breezes and gentler smiles, warmth, an ease.
And yet, spring feels different this year, somehow. Ushering in hope and optimism and sunlight, yes, and also a restlessness, a questioning, a longing. I think that is life these days, finding joy and beauty, amidst the cracks and chaos.
A new season, with all of its glory, asking us to savor each sunrise, each new bloom, each new day. Inviting us to stay present.
And reminding us that all of life can begin again, and again, and again.
spring things inspiring me right now.
Neighborhood walks to see what’s in bloom.
Refreshing our space for spring, via artwork, throw pillows and wallcovering.
Rotating my closet - more blue, less black, and always, always white.
Making art - especially collage and watercolor these days.
Planning + planting an herb and veggie garden.
